Apply to be on our Governing Board! Applications are due by Friday, October 16th at 4pm
The District is requesting that all those interested in serving on the school board submit an application.
To be eligible to apply for appointment to the Governing Board an individual must be at least 18 years old, be a resident of the Wright Elementary School District , be a registered voter in the State of California, and not be disqualified from holding civil office by the constitution of any law of the State of California.
An employee of the Wright Elementary School District may not be sworn into office as an elected or appointed member of the Board, unless he or she resigns as an employee. If the employee does not resign, the employment will automatically terminate upon being sworn into office.
Applications submitted online are preferred. If you prefer a paper application, please return the attached form to the Wright Elementary School District Office at 4385 Price Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95407, or email it to Superintendent Lisa Reid ( lreid@wrightesd.org ) by the filing deadline of October 16, 2026 at 4:00pm. The Appointment Process:
We will be holding a Special Board Meeting* on October 29 to interview each applicant in Open Session. Following the interviews, the Governing Board will consider the appointment of one of the applicants. The appointed governing board member will be seated on the WESD Governing Board at our December 17, 2026 regular board meeting.
The appointee will hold office as if elected at a district election for a 4-year term starting in December.
*The agenda for the Special Board Meeting will be published no later than 24 hours before the meeting.
