Superintendent

Lisa Saxon

Dear Wright Elementary School District Community:

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I introduce myself to you as your new Superintendent!

My career in education began 31 years ago, and my experience includes teaching in this very district as a kindergarten teacher at J.X. Wilson Elementary School. I feel as if I have come full circle and am thrilled about this role serving as the capstone to my career. I come to you having spent all my career in Sonoma County schools as an equity-focused instructional leader with expertise in District and Site Leadership, Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, Educational and Student Services, and Human Resources. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and teaching and administrative credentials from Sonoma State University, and my master’s degree in Educational Administration from Brandman University. I have taught kindergarten, first, and third grades in the Wright, Old Adobe, and Waugh School Districts (1992-1999). My site administrative experience includes serving as assistant principal at Roseland Elementary School (1999-2001), and principal at Willowside Middle School in the Oak Grove Union School District (2001-2007), as well as Windsor Middle School (2007-2013). In addition to my role as Wright Superintendent, my district-level experience includes Director of Educational Services (2013-2022) and Personnel (2013-2015) in the Windsor Unified School District.

"Truth, integrity, and connection are central to my core values."

As such, I highly value relationships and find that most of the work of a Superintendent directly relates to how well s/he can work with people. I will work closely with all to listen, learn, and facilitate staying the course on achieving district goals while focusing on equity, results, and collaboration within the Wright Elementary School District Community.

I am the proud mom of two amazing daughters (Sydney (25) and Bayley (19)) whom I raised alone for many years. Family is a top priority for me, and I love spending quality time with them and friends.  CrossFit 3-4 days per week keeps my body, mind, and spirit healthy. I also enjoy reading, gardening, hiking, and traveling.

Sincerely,

Lisa Saxon
